Wharton-Smith Construction Group announced that it has achieved Gold in Associated Builders and Contractor’s STEP Safety Management System. Founded in 1989, STEP participation demonstrates safety leadership and a cultural commitment to safety performance.

Topping Out at Site 113

Recently, Central Florida Commercial team members, subcontractors, vendors, and representatives from Orange County Public Schools celebrated the topping out of Site 113 High School. See more pictures.

As more than 400 workers gathered in front of the school’s gymnasium, they received a t-shirt emblazoned with the project motto, “Essential workers never stop, tomorrow depends on us.”

From the time the COVID crisis began in March, our Brevard Commercial team, took on seven projects that needed to reach completion by July 31. Project Spotlight

We are elated to highlight the dedicated work our Wharton-Smith Brevard team accomplished by delivering construction management services to the Viera Area Elementary School operation.

Having wrapped up in June, this single-story, 125,000 s.f. campus features 54 new classrooms, a media center, administration/office space, and so much more. Our crew also provided all associated amenities to modernize this facility, including infrastructure to support individual computers, touch screen TVs for teachers, and the foundation for future solar power panels.

Osceola Business Academy Project Update

Wharton-Smith is pleased to share another triumphant project! Our continued involvement made it possible to deliver CMAR services on behalf of the Osceola County School District for the Osceola Business Academy at Poinciana High School. We installed a new two-story, 500-student station, 20-classroom building with administration spaces, required restrooms, mechanical and electrical locations, and more.
