#ProjectSpotlight | Flashback to one year ago, Wharton-Smith’s Punta Gorda division successfully completed development on the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office & Evidence Building.

Our team joined Fawley Bryant Architecture to administer preconstruction and construction management services on the new 16,574-square-foot Sheriff’s Administration Building and the 24,565-square-foot Evidence Building. This addition to the county spans across 20 acres and includes improved offices, meeting and training rooms, evidence vaults, new impound evidence bays, and more.

Wellington’s Wastewater Treatment Plant

A special spotlight has been cast on our Wharton-Smith Southeast Florida region project, the Wellington Wastewater Treatment Plant!

In a recent article, The Palm Beach Post shared latest news about this refurbished plant scheduled to be completed in March 2021. According to the piece, with Wellington’s continued growth, the plant needed a radical update to meet the demands in the next five years.

Shannon LaRocque, PE, Wellington’s Director of Utilities, remarked, “Once completed, Wellington’s wastewater treatment plant will be poised to serve the village for another 30 to 35 years. This is very impactful work.”
