Mark McDaniel
Director of Operations, Commercial
Mark McDaniel was hired as Director of Operations for Wharton-Smith’s Gulf Coast Commercial Division in December 2019, bringing with him more than 40 years of construction experience. In this role, Mark is responsible for operations oversight, business development, community relations, and the quality of services provided by his team. From estimating to operations, he is involved with every aspect of the commercial projects in his region and his expertise assures in-depth knowledge and problem solving every step of the way. Throughout his career in Mississippi, Mark has established strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Most recently, he worked as a Senior Vice President of Operations for Roy Anderson Corp Construction, which specializes in Education, Hospitality, Gaming, Industrial, and Healthcare projects. In addition to his professional experience, Mark has a bachelor’s degree from the School of Construction at Northeast Louisiana University and is a Certified Healthcare Constructor for the American Hospital Association. He was on both the Mississippi ABC and AGC Boards and was a past President of the Mississippi AGC. Mark graduated as a member of Leadership Mississippi Gulf Coast, Class of 2016-2017, and he is on the Patient/Family Advisory Council for Memorial Hospital Gulfport. Mark resides in Gulfport, Mississippi, with his youngest of two daughters, Jada, who is 14 years old. His other daughter, Markelle, recently had her third child, a son. Mark, his children, and grandchildren are avid Arkansas Razorback and New Orleans Saints fans.
