Wharton-Smith provided construction management services for the multi-phased comprehensive needs addition and renovation of the Cypress Creek High School campus. Totaling over 390,000 square feet, the project added a new two-story classroom building with a professional culinary kitchen and lab space, a new central energy plant, new concessions building, and expansion of the main school lobby and reception area. Extensive renovations and remodeling were made to the Performing Arts Center and auditorium, administration building, art building, media center, classrooms, and gymnasium. The project also included reconfiguration of the school cafeteria and kitchen, as well as extensive site work.
The complex project was constructed on an active, occupied campus with more than 3,300 students and staff. Extensive planning was essential in coordinating construction activities with ongoing school activities to provide a safe environment for students, staff and visitors.
“The Wharton-Smith project team has been outstanding to work with. They have listened to our concerns, helped problem solve, and ultimately found great solutions…I could not have asked for a better team.” – Heather Hilton, Principal, Cypress Creek High School
