Uptown Altamonte is a 25-acre, mixed use, waterfront development that serves as Seminole County’s favorite outdoor town center. During this redevelopment project, Wharton-Smith constructed a new roadway, a one-acre public park and plaza, and a new amphitheater and civic park along the shoreline of Cranes Roost Lake. The project also included replacing 3,000 linear feet of handrails, relocating utilities, installing traffic signals, widening roads, and constructing landscape walls and sidewalks.
Wharton-Smith continues to provide improvements to the area and is currently completing a rehabilitation project that includes improvements to the floating stage and boardwalks, the lighting control system, and light fixtures.
“Your work in our downtown area has been superb. To date, your team has exceeded our expectations in every regard.” – Franklin W. Martz II, Director Community Redevelopment Agency & Planning Services, The City of Altamonte Springs
