Wharton-Smith Breaks Ground on Southwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility in Citrus County

Tampa, FL – May 23, 2017 – Wharton-Smith, Inc., one of Central Florida’s largest locally based general contractors, joined with Citrus County Commissioners and staff, representatives from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and Engineer Jones Edmunds & Associates on May 23 to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Southwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility.

Located in Homosassa, the Southwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility is an existing wastewater treatment facility owned and operated by Citrus County approximately three miles east of the Chassahowitzka River, a spring fed body of water.
