Wharton-Smith Celebrates Completion of the Smyrna Dunes Park Boardwalk Renovation Project

New Smyrna Beach, FL – May 25, 2018 – It was a great day for team members from Wharton-Smith, Nature Bridges, DMC Engineers, Zev Cohen and Volusia County to celebrate the completion of the Smyrna Dunes Park Boardwalk Renovation project with a ceremonial ribbon cutting. The newly renovated two-mile elevated boardwalk now extends across 73 acres of land at the northern tip of the New Smyrna Beach peninsula.

Wharton-Smith Celebrates Completion of the Southwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility

DeBary, FL – May 1, 2018 –  The Southwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility Biological Nutrient Removal project located near Blue Spring State Park in DeBary commemorated their retrofitted Water Treatment Plant opening in an unusual way — using toilet paper in lieu of a ribbon for the traditional cutting ceremony.

The expanded plant will reduce the Phosphorus and Nitrogen levels in the Blue Spring State Park as part of the State of Florida’s Springs Protection Initiative. Wharton-Smith Participates in the ARC “Sound the Alarm” Event

Charlotte, NC – April 27, 2018 – Charlotte Commercial team members—Bret Estridge, Andrew Miller, and Malina Dana— participated in the Sound the Alarm event for the American Red Cross (ARC). During the event, teams of volunteers installed 100,000 free smoke alarms in more than 100 cities across the U.S. According to ARC, seven people die in home fires every day, most in homes that lack working smoke alarms. Sadly, children and the elderly disproportionately lose their lives.
