Congratulations to Carlin Dunlop!

Carlin Dunlop, Assistant Project Manager – Central Florida Water, passed the Professional Engineer (PE) test. This is a significant accomplishment that requires both years of experience and extensive study to successfully complete the exam.

The eight-hour PE exam tests your ability to practice competently in a particular engineering discipline. It is designed for engineers who have gained at least four years’ post-college work experience in their chosen discipline.

Project Awarded – Gulfport Commercial!

We are pleased to share that our Gulfport Commercial division has secured the $31.3 million Ocean Enterprise Facility project!

This team has already put this project into action and anticipate that it will be completed in April 2022. The project will serve as a hub for research and innovation that will bolster the Blue Economy on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The work will consist of an elevated structural concrete frame including four structural steel-elevated levels above with metal panel clad and curtain wall exterior.

Project Awarded – Carolina Water!

Our Carolina Water team has just begun production on the new Berkeley County Pump Station #002 project!

This undertaking includes the demolition of the existing facility and will be replaced with a new 26-MGD pump station with submersible pumps, wet well, discharge piping, force main, and electrical upgrades.

We are excited to be working alongside Weston & Sampson to deliver this $8.9 million project!…

Panels Up at Site 113

The project team at Site 113 High School began erecting panels a few weeks ago and have quickly made their way through the courtyard and North buildings.

The $88 million project for Orange County Public Schools would historically take about 24 months to complete but, as was the case at Windermere High School, we were only provided 16 months. The project team is on track to meet that goal!

Roth Athletic Center Tops Out!

On May 22, more than 75 team members from various trades joined Wharton-Smith’s Central Florida Commercial Division to celebrate the topping out of the Roth Athletic Center at the University of Central Florida. See more pictures.

To kick off the event, everyone lined up for a hearty lunch from 4 Rivers Smokehouse. Next, Todd Fatzinger, Project Superintendent, gave a few words of encouragement for the great job everyone was doing, “We really appreciate you! Keep up the hard work, teamwork, and safety protocols.”
