Helping Homeless Veterans
Our Punta Gorda team had the opportunity to spread a little holiday cheer and partner with the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition to purchase household items for veterans moving into newly refurbished housing.
Project Assistant Susie Lampros shared, “I was so glad to be a part of this mission to help provide needed housing for our homeless veteran population in Charlotte County. It was gratifying to know that with my community and Wharton-Smith’s help, we could make a difference for families in need.”

Wharton-Smith served as General Contractor towards this $36 million design-build advancement alongside CDM Smith and Tetra Tech. This new development included a reverse osmosis facility, 5 MG water storage tank, 15 well pumps in well drills, and much more. The new system can now produce up to 6.4 million gallons of finished water per day.

Groundbreaking for Ocoee City Hall
Wharton-Smith team members joined representatives from the City of Ocoee to celebrate the new Ocoee City Hall’s groundbreaking. See more pictures.
The project team is constructing a neoclassical three-story, 46,000-square-foot structural steel and brick building. The $17.2 million project will include site work and area development for a five-acre site in downtown Ocoee. It will feature new commission chambers and expanded facilities for their utilities, city planning, accounting, human resources, executive, and legislative departments.

Lake Point Academy Topping Out
Congratulations to all involved in the recent topping out of Lake Point Academy – a new 160,000-square-foot K-8 Lake County Schools! Project Awarded – Orlando Commercial
Wharton-Smith is pleased to announce our Orlando Commercial team’s most recent win – the City of Casselberry Public Works Operational Facility project.
We’ll be teaming up with Bentley Architects + Engineers, Inc. and Salas O’Brien on this $15.3 million undertaking to demolish and renovate the existing Public Works Facility.
