New Carpet for Kids House

Recently, representatives from Kids House, Wharton-Smith, and Hudson-Everly Commercial Flooring, gathered to celebrate the completion of the floor renovation at Kids House with a walk through and pictures.

It all started in 2017. The staff at Kids House started to see small holes in the carpet throughout the building and were concerned about the concrete floor below it. In January 2019, Wharton-Smith was called to investigate. We determined that someone wearing high heels must have punctured the carpet right into the joints of the concrete slab below but there were no structural issues.

That’s when General Superintendent Mike Morton called…

Community Giving in Harbour Island

Harbour Island, Bahamas
Celebrated for its pink sand beaches and small-town feel, Harbour Island has been struck hard by the COVID-19 crisis. Bars, restaurants, and hotels have been closed, putting people out of work. With an unemployment level of over 60 percent, the food supply is at risk for many families.

Wanting to help those most vulnerable in the community, Wharton-Smith partnered with the local project manager, developer, town council, and faith leaders, to create a fund for purchasing and distributing non-perishable foods. David Hayes, Vice President Entertainment-International, sourced the food supplies and coordinated two shipments.

On April 24,…

The Chief Technology Officer at SCPS was quick to respond, “Thank you for the very generous offer.”

With that, 50 laptops, valued at more than $15,000, were made ready for transfer to SCPS and picked up on April 16.…

Distribution to the families was made possible through a system put in place by Brevard Public Schools (BPS). On March 23, BPS announced they were opening schools as food distribution centers for students living in poverty. To ensure social distancing, BPS asked parents to drive into the bus loop and release their trunk. A BPS employee places a…
